St. Joseph of Arimathea Seminary
St Joseph of Arimathea Seminary (TSLCC) is the training and formation centre of the church. It prepares people for ministry by helping them grow in faith, prayer, and understanding of the Christian tradition.
The seminary is named after St Joseph of Arimathea, who cared for the body of Christ and is linked in tradition with the early church in Britain. He represents quiet faithfulness, compassion, and courage—qualities the seminary hopes to nurture in all who study there.
Purpose
The seminary exists to:
-

-
Form students in prayer and spiritual life
-
Prepare ministers to serve with love and wisdom
It aims to shape people not only in knowledge but in character, so they can serve the church and the wider world with humility and care.
Learning and formation
Students study subjects such as:
-
The Bible
-
Christian theology
-
Worship and the sacraments
-
Preaching and pastoral care
-
Spiritual formation
Training is often flexible and can take place online, in local communities, and through shared worship. Students learn while living out their calling in everyday life.
Spiritual life
Prayer is at the heart of the seminary. Students are encouraged to build a steady rhythm of prayer, worship, and reflection. This helps them grow closer to God and to one another as a community.
Role in the church
St Joseph of Arimathea Seminary serves the TSLCC by forming ministers who are prayerful, compassionate, and rooted in tradition. It is a place of learning, discernment, and preparation for those called to serve God and the Church.
